Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has officially stepped down from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of Orogun Ward 2 in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege explained that his decision followed a careful review of recent political developments within the party at the state level, as well as consultations with his supporters and political associates.

He said it had become evident that his political aspirations, as well as the interests of his constituents, would be better pursued outside the APC.

“I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria,” he stated.

The former Senate Deputy President expressed appreciation to the APC for the opportunity to serve in leadership positions, including his tenure as Deputy President of the 9th Senate. He also requested that his name be removed from all party records and communication channels.

Omo-Agege reaffirmed his commitment to continued public service, stressing that his focus remains on delivering effective representation and development for Delta Central, Delta State, and the nation at large.
