Davido Confirmed as Headline Performer for FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert

Nigerian music sensation Davido has been named among the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s leading global music ambassadors.

FIFA confirmed the announcement in a statement released on Tuesday, revealing that the award-winning Afrobeats star will share the stage with Major Lazer, the internationally renowned music project led by American DJ and producer Diplo.

The event is scheduled to take place on June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and forms part of FIFA’s first synchronised live entertainment series across the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup—Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

According to FIFA, additional performers for the concert are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Describing the event as a major celebration of football and culture, FIFA said the Los Angeles edition will feature high-energy performances designed to unite fans from around the world ahead of the tournament.

The concert venue will open to attendees at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, while the live broadcast is expected to commence an hour later.

The Countdown Concert series is aimed at connecting audiences across the three host countries through simultaneous entertainment events and live performances. Fans will also have access to performances streamed from Mexico City and Toronto as part of the global celebration.

FIFA Chief Tournament Officer, Manolo Zubiria, said the initiative reflects the passion, diversity, and cultural connections that define the FIFA World Cup.

He noted that the Los Angeles event, taking place just days before the opening match in the United States, will bring together world-class entertainment, football, and fans in one of the world's leading entertainment capitals.

FIFA also announced that tickets for the concert will go on sale on June 3, while the event will be streamed globally through the organisation’s digital platforms.

Fans around the world will also be able to follow the performances through an exclusive livestream on TikTok, with full concert coverage and behind-the-scenes content available on VuMe Live after the event.

Davido’s inclusion in the concert lineup marks another milestone in his international career and highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats on some of the world's biggest entertainment platforms.
