Kunle Afolayan Raises Alarm Over Insecurity, Says Nigerians Are Living in Fear

Nollywood filmmaker and actor Kunle Afolayan has voiced concern over the increasing cases of insecurity and kidnappings across Nigeria, describing the situation as deeply troubling for citizens.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, Afolayan said he was saddened by the growing reports of abductions and other security challenges affecting communities across the country.

According to the award-winning filmmaker, many Nigerians now carry out their daily activities under an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, unsure of their safety.

He noted that travelling on Nigerian roads has become a source of anxiety for many people and expressed solidarity with families worried about the well-being of their loved ones.

Afolayan said the persistent insecurity has created an environment where ordinary citizens are constantly concerned about their safety, particularly while commuting or moving between cities.

The filmmaker also called attention to the role of government and security agencies in addressing the challenges, stressing the need for greater efforts to protect lives and property.

While expressing frustration over the current situation, he offered prayers for the safety of Nigerians and urged citizens not to lose hope despite the difficulties facing the nation.

Afolayan stated that although recent events may have created fear and uncertainty, Nigerians should remain optimistic about the country's future.

Reflecting on the nation's resilience, he noted that Nigeria has overcome numerous challenges in the past and expressed confidence that the country would eventually overcome its current security concerns.

His comments add to growing calls from public figures, civil society groups, and citizens for stronger measures to tackle insecurity and restore public confidence across the country.
